SHARE organized a 2-days workshop on international best-practices in nuclear Decommissioning
On October 22nd and 23rd 2020, a meeting consortium was organized to share results obtained at this stage, complete missing information as much as possible and coordinate with some other EU initiatives in the field of characterization and treatment of waste (PREDIS, EURAD/ROUTE, CHANCE, MICADO, INSIDER).
A survey among 600 stakeholders was implemented during Summer 2020 asking to rank importance and urgency of their needs for Research (R&D, R&I, methodologies, standards, technical and non-technical) aiming at improving safety, costs and optimizing waste in Decommissioning.
During these two days, participants covered 8 domains: safety and radiological protection, management and costing (including digital tools), human resources management, characterization during Decommissioning, site preparatory activities, dismantling, environmental remediation & site release and waste management.
The results of this workshop will be analysed by the consortium and will be a good basis for the public workshop 1-3 December (agenda will be given soon)
